well, here is my attempt at remaking SMB1, this is 2 days in a row of work so it's not that complete, demo includes the first level, also, unlike the first SMB1 there will be major gameplay differences between Mario and Luigi(not in demo) but I'll go into that later, this is incomplete so no one go "Oh My Gosh theres no fire flowers or koopas and no flagpole/castle" anywho C+C please,




features:
2 playable characters: Mario and Luigi
2 new levels per world (one secret one normal)
99% identical levels (hey this is the closest a fangame has ever gotten, I just don't have the warp pipe secret rooms, everything else is identical)
1 secret character
5 new enemies
3 new power ups

controls:
up: jump
left & right: move
F1: credits
F4: fullscreen
ESC: quit


next update I'll explain the gameplay differences between Mario and Luigi

and maybe upload some screens

Well, except for the Mushroom being in the wrong place this is pretty good... I'd try being a little more accurate in the way of Mario, though. Bouncing off enemies seems too high.

Good but i found a few glitches.
1. I hit the bottum of a brick block and it froze.
2. Died when i jumped square on a goomba.
other than that it was fine.

Oh, and are you going to add a ducking pose?

I have a list of complaints about it.

- Some of the graphics don't blend in too well
- Mushroom in the wrong place at level start (not that big of a deal though)
- Power-Up Blocks don't work after becoming Super (but I know you're working on that so disregard this one)
- Having the Up arrow as the jump key is a little irritating, so if you can, change it to Shift

Yeah that's about it. But this does seem to have potential.

NSMB music is horrible
Brick should make you fall down when you hit it
Shards should come out of the brick
Question block should bounce
Mushroom should slide out of block
There should be a starman
There should be a flagpole
Coins should rise after coming out of block
Scores should appear
There should be a HUD

scores DO appear, unless you go in fullscreen mode there in the program border, the music is temporary and everything else has not been programed yet cool.gif

wow, please dont continue this. Your wasting your time. The mario physics are off. The goombas go the wrong way and dont bounce off each other. The graphics dont blend well.
